Project
KenKar Plastics was recently awarded the supply, welding, spacing and strapping of Polyethylene Conduits by an experienced Directional Drilling for Ausgrid as part of a major road project in Newcastle.
The conduit as part of Ausgrid’s Specification had to be spaced 70mm apart to not adversely affect the thermal rating of the power cables. The conduits also were to remain non-impeded to allow cable to be pulled through by other contractors.
Solution
Kenkar successfully supplied, welded, strapped spacers and bundling 3 strings of 180mm & 63mm SDR13.6 orange electrical conduit on time and on budget using 4 Dixon 225mm butt welding machines.
With our engineered internal debeaders Kenkar Plastics, successfully removed the bead on the internal bore of the pipe and were logged as part of our Quality system. KenKar Plastics custom made 180mm x 3 and 1 x 63mm way Conduit Spacers were manufactured from PE100 HDPE materials and installed by the team every 2m, then strapped together to be pulled into the Directional Bore.
The project was delivered on time and on budget and our client quickly moved onto their next job.
